The Software Development Engineer (SDE-II) will join the Selection & Catalog Systems team at Amazon, focusing on enhancing the product catalog and improving customer product discovery. This role involves tackling a variety of technical challenges, including developing validation frameworks and sophisticated algorithms for data consistency. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse technology stack and collaborate with experienced engineers to drive high-impact initiatives. A passion for delivering high-quality software in an agile environment is essential.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• 2+ years of distributed systems experience
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• Experience working in a fast-paced work environment

• Spearhead the development of a validation framework and service to detect and prevent data quality issues across the product catalog
• Build sophisticated algorithms integrating with AI/ML models for validation at scale
• Create innovative, low latency, and high performance probabilistic validation solutions
• Develop an insights framework that utilizes service logs and metrics to refine validation guardrails
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop end-to-end solutions for product data validation
