The Software Development Engineer will join Amazon Advertising's Bid Strategies and Pacing team, focusing on building and optimizing systems that manage ad spend across a large-scale distributed infrastructure. This role involves working with applied scientists and engineers to develop real-time systems that compute price signals and enforce budget caps. The engineer will have ownership over features from design to deployment, contributing to campaign performance optimization for a diverse range of advertisers. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

• Design and implement components of real-time systems that compute price signals and distribute bidding instructions
• Build and operate distributed services and streaming data pipelines that process billions of events daily
• Contribute to campaign performance optimization including pacing algorithms and budget allocation
• Own features end-to-end through the full software development lifecycle
• Collaborate with applied scientists and economists to productionize optimization algorithms
• Participate in operational excellence activities such as root-cause analysis and system reliability improvement
