The role is for a senior systems engineer on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) NX Platforms team, focusing on enhancing virtualized networking performance and security. The team is responsible for the packet processing pipeline that supports millions of EC2 instances globally. Candidates will work on high-performance networking, kernel development, and embedded systems, contributing to the next generation of EC2 features. This position offers opportunities for mentorship and collaboration with experienced engineers across AWS.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

• Own the end-to-end design, scoping, implementation, and integration testing of new features that run on the EC2 Nitro System.
• Design and build secure and scalable services to enable monitoring, diagnostics, and automated recovery.
• Design and build next generation hardware/software validation platforms that enable efficient CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and define requirements, design system architectures, and implement robust and scalable solutions.
• Continuously improve development processes, tools, and automation to enhance productivity and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers with scoping, design, and developing scalable and maintainable code.
