As a Regional Environmental Engineer at AWS, you will ensure environmental compliance at data centers in Virginia. You will develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance while fostering an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including government entities and contractors, to maintain high environmental standards. This position is based in Herndon, VA, and requires travel throughout the state.

• Experience with environmental regulations
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
• 5+ years of experience with applicable federal and state air quality regulations, including Clean Air Act programs such as Title V, NSPS, and NESHAP
• 5+ years of experience calculating emissions and preparing technical reports, compliance documentation, and emissions inventories
• Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
• Experience leading change in multiple site environments and influencing those that are not direct reports or within your organization
• Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
• Experience in overseeing and managing projects and deadlines
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building, influencing, negotiation, and coaching

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
• Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action
