The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and development of power and motion control systems for robotic systems at Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company. This role focuses on selecting and designing robot actuators, emphasizing motor control and power delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power electronics and BLDC control, contributing to the creation of robots that are both capable and delightful. • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 7+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience
• 4+ years of motor controls experience, including motor starts, variable frequency drives, and DC drives
• Experience with power electronics, DC-DC converters, switching regulators, or battery management
• Strong PCB design and layout skills with an understanding of high-power circuits, signal integrity, and thermal constraints
• Experience working in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other real-time electromechanical systems
• Foundations in control theory

• Develop conceptual designs and conduct trade studies to support actuator selection and design
• Lead the design, layout, and validation of PCBs for power distribution and motor control systems
• Develop test and measurement infrastructure for power electronics and motor control
• Collaborate with firmware engineers on real-time control strategies
• Work with mechanical engineers to integrate thermal management solutions for high-power electronics and motors
• Support integration, bring-up, debugging, and testing of prototype actuators
• Ensure EMI/EMC compliance, signal integrity, and thermal design best practices for high-reliability electronics
• Work with vendors and contract manufacturers to source high-quality components
