The Principal Software Engineer for Crypto Trading will be responsible for developing high-quality software solutions in an agile environment. This role involves engaging with partners and stakeholders while designing and implementing technology solutions for Fidelity's Digital Asset business. The team focuses on building a robust platform for trading cryptocurrencies, emphasizing low latency and high performance. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with code and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance productivity.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
• At least 10 years of software engineering experience
• Background in designing and developing low latency systems
• Extensive experience with modern Java using zero GC pattern
• Knowledge of WebSocket and FIX protocols
• Proficient in ultra-low latency design patterns and optimizing systems
• Experience with designing APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workers, and resilient messaging services
• An understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-based deployments
• Ability to build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies or iterative development processes

• Design and implement technology solutions for the Fidelity Digital Asset business
• Develop high-performance algorithms for trading and crypto trading
• Collaborate with business partners to contribute to business-critical initiatives
• Demonstrate software engineering excellence through continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Guide junior team members on technology and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and database performance issues
• Coach team members and take accountability for deliverables
• Contribute towards innovative solutions to increase productivity
• Write code for product features in a hands-on role
