Job description

The Software Engineer role at Apple within the Product Analysis and Compliance Engineering (PACE) organization focuses on building intelligent systems that enhance efficiency through AI and connected data. The team operates at the intersection of engineering, compliance, and data, ensuring that products meet high standards of regulatory compliance and safety. The ideal candidate will work in small iterations, delivering software that leverages data to drive decisions and improve outcomes. This position emphasizes a culture of continuous delivery, collaboration, and a commitment to quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
  • Strong track record of delivering AI-powered systems at scale.
  • Deep practical experience with modern software engineering practices.
  • Proficient in Python and at least one other high-level programming language.
  • Experience building data pipelines and working with connected data across multiple sources.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Demonstrated ability to build observability into production systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship software systems that apply AI to improve team efficiency.
  • Work in small iterations, delivering working software early and often.
  • Collaborate closely with PACE domain experts to understand their problems.
  • Build systems that genuinely work at scale with data and AI practitioners.
  • Establish the engineering culture of a new team focused on lean practices and continuous delivery.
  • Channel curiosity into building tools that enable user success.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
