The System Triage Services team is focused on building AI-powered applications that detect and classify software crashes across Apple platforms. This senior technical leadership role involves designing systems that enhance the triage process for Core OS technologies. The position requires a blend of distributed systems engineering and hands-on development, with an emphasis on reliability and system design. The successful candidate will influence engineering teams and shape the architecture of production infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production distributed systems or data platforms at scale.
• Expert-level Python and strong system design skills.
• 2+ years building and shipping LLM-based or agentic systems to production.
• Hands-on experience designing evaluation frameworks for ML/LLM systems.
• Deep working knowledge of RAG architectures and data preparation for agentic workflows.
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Background in kernel or OS-level debugging.
• Experience with large-scale telemetry or observability systems.
• Track record of shipping platforms or developer tools widely adopted by engineering organizations.
• Experience setting technical strategy and roadmaps.

• Set the technical direction for agentic systems in Core OS.
• Own the architecture of production infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
• Turn ambiguous triage problems into clear system designs.
• Make build-vs-reuse and reliability tradeoffs.
• Influence engineering teams across Software, Hardware, and Silicon groups.
• Drive multi-quarter projects through ambiguity.
• Mentor other engineers and present tradeoffs to senior engineering leadership.
• Write design documents that align multiple teams.
