The Tools and Automation Engineer role within the iCloud Quality Engineering team focuses on building and evolving the test automation ecosystem for iCloud's core products. The team is dedicated to designing high-quality automation frameworks and tools that enhance test coverage and engineering efficiency. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and integrate AI-driven testing workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges.

• 4+ years of experience in test automation, software development in test, or quality engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Swift, or a comparable language.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining production-quality automation code.
• Experience designing and building automated test frameworks and tools.
• Experience writing test plans and creating automated UI tests with XCTest, WebDriver, or equivalent tools.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and QA processes.
• Experience working with CI systems and test infrastructure.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading quality for a cross-functional project or owning automation for a product area end to end.
• Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction for an automation codebase.
• Experience integrating LLMs or agentic workflows into developer and QA tooling.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants to speed up test authoring, debugging, and automation development.
• Experience building internal developer tools or test infrastructure.
• Familiarity with API, integration, and UI automation strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Apple platforms (iOS, macOS) and the web.
• Experience improving test reliability and reducing flakiness in large-scale environments.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
