- Experience designing evals and improving model quality with data.
- Familiarity with App Intents or other Apple frameworks.
- Strong API design skills and a track record of building platforms for other developers.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Define how models reason, plan, and execute across Apple's ecosystem of apps and services.
- Develop the core platform, runtime, and API abstractions for effective model execution.
- Craft the language the model sees and design tool representations.
- Build orchestration systems that enable models to plan and reason through novel capabilities.
- Ensure model reliability and accuracy across a vast action space while minimizing latency and inference costs.
- Engineer the execution layer to be fast across all Apple devices.
- Design realistic evaluations and diagnose complex failure modes.
- Bridge the gap between platform infrastructure and foundation modeling.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage.
