The On-Device Machine Learning team at Apple is seeking an On-Device ML Quality Infrastructure Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure for validating and benchmarking the On-Device Machine Learning stack. This role is crucial for ensuring the robustness and testability of machine learning components, allowing engineers to work efficiently. The engineer will focus on developing automation frameworks and enhancing quality practices within the team. This position combines a passion for software quality with cutting-edge machine learning technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant disciplines
• Experience with build systems such as CMake and Bazel
• CI/CD experience
• Strong programming and software design skills in Python
• In-depth knowledge of quality practices and fundamentals, including test planning, automation, and performance evaluation
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant disciplines is a plus
• Experience with ML authoring frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• Familiarity with standard ML architectures such as Transformers, CNNs, or Stable Diffusion is a strong plus
• Experience with fuzz testing tools or methodologies
• Experience with performance profiling and analysis tools
• Familiarity with GenAI tooling for developer productivity or test generation

• Build and maintain the infrastructure for the On-Device Machine Learning stack
• Own build and CI systems to ensure efficient workflows
• Develop automation frameworks to enhance testing and validation processes
• Write and expand test suites to improve software quality
• Develop robustness tests, including fuzz testing, to ensure system reliability
• Run performance benchmarks and track regressions across the ML stack
• Collaborate with Apple's broader CI and infrastructure teams to improve validation speed and scale
