Apple's Debug Technologies team is seeking software and firmware engineers with operating systems experience to enhance in-system debugging and failure observability solutions. The role involves hands-on work across the Core OS stack, focusing on diagnosing and resolving issues both in development and in the field. Engineers will develop features for debugging and diagnostics, improve low-level tools, and support system-level debugging at scale. This position will influence system architectures with a focus on observability and diagnosability.

• 3+ years of experience working on operating system level features or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of operating systems fundamentals
• Experience developing or debugging on embedded systems
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Swift programming
• Experience working with GenAI
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience/skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and constraints as a self-starter

• Develop silicon- and system-level features for faster and more precise debugging and diagnostics.
