The Forward Deployed Engineer role at DeepMind focuses on onboarding external benchmarks to the Kaggle platform. This position serves as a technical bridge between DeepMind's strategic partners and model research teams, facilitating joint evaluations and integrations. The engineer will work collaboratively to enhance model capabilities and drive improvements through systematic evaluations. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position based in either Mountain View, CA, or New York, NY.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development and coding in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with Machine Learning systems or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience in a customer-facing role, managing client relationships or external stakeholders.

• Own the end to end onboarding of critical new benchmarks to the Kaggle platform.
• Drive joint evaluations and benchmarking, building and running systematic evaluations on partner-specific datasets.
• Author high-visibility case studies, developer blogs, and reference implementations to showcase production capabilities.
• Build feedback loop tooling and collaborate with product engineering to develop tooling that aggregates developer feedback patterns.
