AMD is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to join its Data Center Platform Engineering Group. This role focuses on system design support, rack-level bring-up, and customer engagement for the AMD Instinct™ product line. The successful candidate will act as a technical bridge between internal teams and OEM partners, influencing AI solution design and leading validation efforts. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to drive engineering and customer success.

• Advanced experience in system architecture, hardware/firmware debug, and customer-facing engineering roles with a focus on HPC or AI/ML.
• Deep understanding of Server/Rack system architecture including x86, GPU, PCIe, and Interconnects.
• Strong proficiency in System Firmware debug, update flows, and deployment strategies.
• Experience with system bring-up and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ITP, and JTAG.
• Knowledge of power delivery, thermal management, and mechanical form factors in datacenter environments.
• Proven leadership experience in guiding technical teams through complex problem-solving scenarios.

• Partner with customers to architect and optimize Rack-Scale AI solution deployments using AMD Instinct GPUs.
• Support design reviews for customer platform/rack designs and flag areas for improvement.
• Deliver comprehensive technical documentation and best practices for AMD AI platforms.
• Drive hands-on rack, platform, and component-level debug and validation efforts.
• Lead customer issue resolution efforts and manage critical escalations.
• Ensure seamless integration between hardware, firmware, and software stacks during system firmware debug and deployment.
• Represent debug progress and technical insights to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical feedback to influence AMD’s software and hardware roadmaps.
• Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders within the team.
