This role involves designing the data foundation for mission-critical geospatial systems within Esri's Professional Services organization. The position focuses on partnering with Defense and Intelligence customers to create and optimize enterprise database environments that support geospatial applications. The candidate will leverage deep database engineering expertise to address complex customer needs, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Additionally, the role includes advising customers on best practices throughout the engagement lifecycle.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA
• Demonstrated experience with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security
• Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database
• Understanding of geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers
• US citizenship with Active or Current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field
