The Azure Compute team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the development of a fault-tolerant distributed system that supports millions of virtual machines for cloud services. This role involves working on large-scale projects that enhance service reliability, availability, and capacity management using machine learning models. The team focuses on building microservices to improve the Compute billing pipeline and tackle challenges related to resource allocation and fraud prevention. Candidates will have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack and make significant impacts on the Azure platform.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, .NET, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• 6+ years of implementing REST APIs and micro-services.
• Experience with source control and build systems.
• Experience handling multiple workstreams in parallel.
• Experience working on large scale distributed systems.
• Experience leveraging AI and building solutions at scale.

• Solve large-scale engineering challenges and deliver high-quality, reliable services.
• Design solutions with a focus on availability, security, scalability, performance, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and innovation.
• Use telemetry, monitoring, and data-driven insights to continuously improve service health and customer experience.
• Build cloud-native solutions using containers, microservices, REST APIs, NoSQL databases, and Big Data technologies.
