The Principal Performance Architect will join the Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering team, which is responsible for powering Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud mission. This role focuses on optimizing hardware infrastructure for cloud services by analyzing performance bottlenecks and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or computer science and a passion for customer-focused solutions. The position emphasizes the importance of delivering high-quality, efficient, and sustainable cloud hardware solutions.

• Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in relevant field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

• Actively collaborate with architects and provide critical feedback for future SoC.
• Use models to analyze performance bottlenecks in SoC for critical AI workloads.
• Identify opportunities for performance and power optimizations and trade-offs on AI accelerators.
• Develop and test SoC and IP models, including model integration.
• Continuously collaborate with design and performance verification teams to close on SoC performance.
