Job description

The Applied AI Engineer role at ACES CØDE focuses on building AI services that enhance Azure customer support by transitioning from reactive workflows to autonomous resolution systems. The team aims to reduce operational demand and improve reliability through intelligent diagnostics and AI capabilities. Candidates will work with LLM orchestration and multi-agent coordination to create scalable AI services that directly impact Azure customers. This position requires navigating ambiguity and collaborating across technical boundaries to deliver measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product specifications into AI service architectures by decomposing business intent into agent workflows and scalable service designs.
  • Build agentic AI workflows using Azure AI Foundry Agent Service and Microsoft Agent Framework.
  • Develop and iterate on LLM-based solutions including prompt engineering and model selection.
  • Build evaluation systems to validate agent correctness and safety before production deployment.
  • Write production-quality C# and Python code with test-driven development.
  • Deploy services using CI/CD pipelines and ensure full production observability.
  • Implement secure service patterns including RBAC and secrets management.
  • Integrate agents with Azure data sources to ground agent responses in real-time signals.
  • Apply Responsible AI practices across all agent development.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI service components including design, development, testing, and monitoring.

Benefits

  • Employees at Microsoft are often offered comprehensive, “world-class” benefits—including health and mental-wellness programs, competitive pay with bonuses and stock awards, and retirement/savings options. Time-off and flexibility are common, with generous vacation and holidays, parental and caregiver leave, and flexible work schedules, alongside learning support, employee resource groups, product discounts, and matching-gifts/volunteering programs. Specific benefits can vary by region.
