Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to enhance analytics-ready data platforms that support observability, reliability analysis, and capacity forecasting for EDA datacenters. The role involves transforming large-scale observability and telemetry data into reliable datasets for data scientists and engineers. The team collaborates closely with observability, infrastructure, and data science teams to ensure high-quality and accessible data. This position focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines for both near-real-time and historical analytics.

Requirements

  • MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with at least 10+ years of experience in designing and operating large-scale data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in analytical and exploratory workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark.
  • Familiarity with observability and telemetry data, including metrics, logs, traces, and time-series data.
  • Experience in designing data models and schemas that support flexible analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly with engineering and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain analytics-focused data pipelines that ingest and curate observability data.
  • Develop reliable ingestion pipelines for metrics, logs, traces, and hardware health telemetry.
  • Partner with observability engineers to integrate data from various tools into unified analytical datasets.
  • Model and organize data to support exploratory analysis, reliability modeling, and forecasting.
  • Build and optimize batch and streaming workflows for analytics.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring for analytical accuracy.
  • Define data retention, aggregation, and enrichment strategies.
  • Enable self-service analytics by improving data discoverability and usability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to evolve datasets for new models and insights.
  • Continuously improve pipeline scalability, reliability, and performance.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
